Last week we said CIG was targeting a live release for Alpha 4.10.2 with a new event in Stanton. It landed on 9 October, and the event is RSI Discovery Month.

RSI Discovery Month

The event runs across Stanton and celebrates the arrival of the next-generation Constellation, the Constellation Mk V Centaurus. CIG's own pitch: "Join the celebration with missions and rewards as this storied manufacturer pays homage to the iconic Constellation line." Head into Stanton and the missions are there to pick up.

A send-off for the Mk IV

Alongside the event, the existing Constellation Mk IV series has been rebuilt to current standards, and RSI is marking the change of generation properly: "As the Mk IV makes way for the next generation, we celebrate an icon of space travel and the countless stories written aboard it." If you have spent any real time in the verse, there is a fair chance some of your stories happened aboard one.

"A new Constellation and a proper send-off for the old one. RSI does not retire a ship this famous quietly."

The Exiles

The quieter fixes

The netcode that governs how loose physics objects behave across the network has been rewritten. It is the kind of change you notice when objects stop misbehaving rather than when you read the notes. Abandoned vehicles left at Everus Harbor, Seraphim Station, Bajini Point and Port Tressler now expire on their own timer, so the busiest stations should stay a little less cluttered.

Squadron 42 is on Steam

The single-player campaign now has a Steam page you can wishlist, which opened on 10 October. It lists Squadron 42 for Q2 2027 on Windows, as a single-player game with Steam Achievements, full controller support and Steam Cloud saves. You cannot buy it there yet. Steam's own summary: "Enlist in the UEE Navy in a cinematic, single-player space adventure. Pilot combat ships, fight on foot, and explore capital ships, space stations, and frontier outposts." That matches the Q2 2027 window from the Letter from the Chairman.

Flying with the org

A month-long event across Stanton is a good excuse to get a few people in the same place. Our Star Citizen org UTLAGARNIR is in the Discord, and the Star Citizen hub has more on how we fly. New pilots always welcome.
