Rampant Drone Fabricator sites are now a permanent fixture of wormhole space. CCP has moved them into C1 through C6 for good, with changes made specifically for life in the holes.

The format is escalating waves of Rogue Drones, and the pressure builds through a point system CCP calls Rampancy. The more you kill, the harder the site pushes back. The headline number is the wave cap: it has gone from 30 waves to 100. CCP's own summary of what that means was refreshingly blunt. "Translation: It's hard!"

Risk scales with reward

The payout follows the same curve as the danger. The further into the wave count you push, the bigger the rewards get, which turns every site into a judgement call about when to stop. These are built for small groups rather than fleets, though the opening waves are soloable if you want to feel out the mechanics before bringing friends. They were trialled during the Gallente Election event, so this is tested content being made permanent rather than something dropped in untested.

Why wormhole corps should care

Permanent content inside C1 to C6 means a repeatable reason to undock that does not require leaving home. Wormhole life already rewards small, well-drilled groups who know their static and their neighbours, and this fits that shape exactly. It is also a decent yardstick for a corp: a hundred waves of increasingly angry drones will tell you quickly whether your fits and your fleet comp actually work.
