CIG has revealed a set of new characters for Squadron 42, the single-player military campaign set in the Star Citizen universe. The game already carries one of the most ambitious casts in the medium, with Gary Oldman, Mark Hamill and Gillian Anderson among the named roles, and each new reveal fills in more of the story around the UEE Navy's war effort.

Squadron 42 has been feature complete since 2023 by CIG's account, and the most recent public target puts its release in 2026. Whether that date holds is a fair question to ask of any CIG schedule, but the pace of reveals suggests a game in its finishing stages rather than one on the horizon.
