The Star Citizen Grey's Market Basher light fighter flying low over a desert with two wingmates

Grey's Market, Star Citizen's brand of choice for parts that fell off the back of a hauler, has introduced the Basher, a new light fighter that went flight-ready with Alpha 4.9. It is small, loud, and built to pick fights it probably should not.

Start with the numbers. The Basher is 13.7 metres long and comes in under 25,000 kilograms, which makes it a genuinely tiny thing to throw into a dogfight. That size is the whole personality. It carries six size-2 hardpoints, shipped from the factory with four Snapper laser repeaters and two Deathroll ballistic gatlings, plus a pair of missile launchers. For a ship this small, that is an absurd amount of gun.

The catch is survivability. The Basher runs a single shield generator, so there is very little buffer between an incoming round and your hull. This is a glass cannon in the purest sense. You hit hard, you die fast, and the fun lives in the gap between those two facts.

Held together with bad intentions

The aesthetic matches the philosophy. The Basher is kit-bashed from salvaged parts of other ships, reportedly including the Drake Buccaneer, the Aegis Avenger, the Aegis Gladius and the RSI Aurora Mk I. It looks welded together in a hurry because, in lore, it was. Nothing else in the hangar looks like it, and that is the point.

"One shield and a hull the size of a large car. The Basher rewards nerve and punishes hesitation."

The Exiles

Who is it for

Pilots who like aggression over safety, who would rather have a sixth gun than a second shield, and who enjoy a brawler that rewards commitment. It is flight-ready now in 4.9, so this is not a concept sale you wait two years to fly. It is in the verse today. Pricing sits on the pledge store, so check there for the current cost.

Flying it with the org

With one shield and a hull the size of a large car, the Basher rewards positioning and wingman discipline far more than it forgives a bad engagement. If you want someone to watch your flank before you commit that glass cannon to a furball, our Star Citizen org UTLAGARNIR hangs out in the Discord, and the Star Citizen hub has more on how we fly together. New pilots welcome.
