Alpha 4.8: Tactical Strike has been rolling out across Star Citizen over the past few weeks. The headline addition is a substantial set of asteroid base defence missions, new group combat content that suits organised crews well. The patch cycle also coincides with Alien Week, the annual celebration of Xi'an and Banu culture across the game.
The Gatac Railen, a Xi'an cargo freighter with a silhouette unlike anything else in the game, is now flyable. A recent 4.8 patch also brought back XenoThreat, the dynamic event that remains one of the best reasons in the game to fly as part of an organised group. The usual alpha caveats apply: CIG is maintaining a known issues list, and stability varies.
"CIG has said Alpha 4.9 will focus on bug fixing and stability, with the larger content additions moving to August. Given the state of 4.8, that's the right call."
The Exiles
Flying with the org
Events like XenoThreat are built for organisations, and that's how we fly them. The Exiles operate in Star Citizen as UTLAGARNIR, with regular multi-crew sessions, event nights and industry runs. You can join the org on RSI, or stop by our Discord first.
