There's a fresh community goal live in Elite Dangerous, and it's got exploration and exobiology CMDRs written all over it. Vista Genomics has launched an initiative to gather genetic-diversity data from the Sanguineous Rim, and they're paying for it. If you've wanted a reason to point your ship at the fringe of the galaxy, this is it, and it's better with The Exiles flying alongside you.
Straight from GalNet: most exploration naturally drifts toward the centre of the galaxy, so Vista Genomics wants data from the systems out on the edge instead. To sweeten it, they've teamed up with Faulcon DeLacy to show off the brand-new ship-launched Nomad exploration craft, calling on independent pilots to put it through its paces across extreme terrain.
"Exploration is the part of Elite that's simultaneously the most solitary and the most fun to share. Running a community goal together means The Exiles' contribution actually moves the board."
The Exiles
What you actually do
Head to HD 232819, register at The Magrathea research megaship, then get out into the black. Pilots taking part earn a bonus payout for biological samples collected across the Sanguineous Rim. It's exobiology scanning and honest exploration, the quiet, beautiful side of Elite a lot of us fell for in the first place.
New to exobiology? Don't sweat it, it's one of the friendliest ways into Elite: no combat, no rush, just you, your scanners, and some of the best views in gaming. We'll sort you the loadout tips and point you at the good systems.
Running it with The Exiles
Fly to HD 232819, then hop into our Discord and say hi in the Elite Dangerous channel. We'll share routes, exobio targets and Nomad tips, and log our samples together before the goal wraps. You'll also find us on Inara. New commanders are welcome, and community goals don't stay open forever, so grab this window. Fly safe, and o7.
